Four generations of builders.

Tonti Organization's foundation was laid when Al Tonti started renovating homes on the west side of Columbus as the country emerged from the Great Depression. His son, Pat Tonti, and grandson, Tom Tonti, continued this tradition, building and acquiring properties throughout the Columbus area over the last 75 years. We acquired 44 N. High St. in the Fall of 1962 as downtown Columbus was booming. Over the next 50 years, the flight to suburbia heavily impacted the downtown area, which became a shadow of what it once was. As tenants came and left, we held on to this building and our belief that downtown would again become the heartbeat of the city and play a vital role in Columbus' future.

In 2016, while doing maintenance on 44 N. High St., Lauren Tonti (Al's great-granddaughter) removed a couple of drop ceiling tiles and caught a glimpse of the building's original tin ceiling. This beautiful, antique tin combined with quickly growing excitement about the downtown area and various development projects breaking ground, inspired us to start this re-development project.
